Update 03.06.2020: Currently valid hygiene concept of MESSE ESSEN
On May 30, 2020, North Rhine-Westphalia announced the conditions for holding trade fairs and congresses against the background of the Convid-19 pandemic. These conditions provide for a special hygiene and infection protection concept according to § 2 b of the CoronaSchVO. The following currently valid hygiene and infection protection concept for events at Messe Essen results from the conditions.

The consequences of the coronavirus pandemic are also having a noticeable effect on Messe Essen. Trade fairs, congresses and numerous other events cannot take place at present. We have rescheduled most of the fairs planned for spring and summer 2020 in close cooperation with our partner associations, advisory board members and trade fair organisers.
With regard to our calendar of events in the second half of 2020, the following applies: We follow current developments very closely and are in close contact with local authorities and the Federal Government, also through our umbrella organisation AUMA. In this way, we ensure that we can react to a changed situation and take appropriate measures at any time.
According to the agreement of the Federal Government and the Minister Presidents of the Federal States on 15 April 2020, major events are generally prohibited until 31 August 2020. Concrete regulations resulting from this at the level of the federal states and local authorities are currently still outstanding.
Rest assured: We are constantly monitoring and evaluating developments in order to inform you as quickly as possible about any possible effects on the events scheduled for autumn 2020 and to give you maximum planning security for your trade fair participation.
We understand that you have many questions in these challenging times and will naturally remain available to you – as quickly and directly as possible in the current situation.
Thank you for your understanding and stay healthy!
Yours, Team Messe Essen
