Messe Essen ensures further events over the long term

From public exhibitions to leading international trade fairs: Messe Essen ensures further events over the long-term.
Location, modernisation plans and service persuade exhibitors and associations.

After the leading international trade fair SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN, Messe Essen has recently committed to further events over the long term. The leading security trade fair Security Essen, the industry platform for sanitation, heating, air conditioning and renewable energies SHK ESSEN and the world's largest trade fair for board games SPIEL have extended their collaboration with the Essen trade fair venue. "This will guarantee the success and prospects of our location. At the same time these contract renewals are evidence of the future viability and the impressive modernisation concept of Messe Essen”, said Oliver P. Kuhrt, Managing Director of Messe Essen.

Already last year, a high-profile event in the form of the leading international trade fair SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN was already established for the long-term at the Essen trade fair venue. The DVS - Deutscher Verband für Schweißen und verwandte Verfahren e. V. [German Registered Association for Welding and Related Processes] extended its contract with Messe Essen until at least 2033. The trusted partnership of more than 60 years between the sponsor and the organiser of the international trade fair for the joining, cutting and coating technology industry will thus remain in place for the next two decades as well.

The leading international trade fair Security Essen is also continuing its successful 40-year track record with Messe Essen. In addition to the existing cooperation with the Security Association in the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Umbrella Organisation and the German Machinery and Plant Engineering Association, Messe Essen has solidified the cooperation with four other organisations in the German security industry. The BHE Federal Association of Security Technology (Reg. Assoc.), the Alliance for Security in Industry, the Federal Association for the Security Industry and the Federal Union of German Monetary and Value-added Services (Reg. Assoc.) are extending their contracts and continuing their commitment to the international trade fair for civilian security. There is a non-disclosure agreement in place regarding the exact duration of the contract.

In 2014, Security Essen was in top form as 1,045 exhibitors from about 40 nations presented numerous innovations at Messe Essen. This comprehensive overview of the market attracted around 40,000 industry visitors from more than 110 countries.

SHK ESSEN also set the course for further successful business in the city in the Ruhr region: Until at least 2020, the Federal Association of the German Heating Industry (BDH) will remain partnered with the most visited national trade fair for sanitation, heating, air conditioning and renewable energies. 103 industrial companies with around 68,600 employees belong to the BDH. They represent technical expertise in utilities engineering with a focus on heating technology - one of the main themes of the exhibition.

The world's largest public exhibition for games - the international game days SPIEL '15 - are also inextricably linked with the Essen site. Publishers, authors, producers and players meet once a year at Messe Essen to share experiences, learn about the latest news, present their products to the general public, and - of course - to play. The organiser Friedhelm Merz Verlag has already agreed that the next events will take place in Essen.
