Thanks to clear signage, you’ll be reliably guided to the exhibition grounds.

Ample parking is available on site. From there, you can quickly and conveniently reach the entrances on foot or by taking the trade fair shuttle bus.

City of Essen Environmental Zone

A continious environmental zone was set up in the city of Essen. As of July 2014, only vehicles with a green environmental badge may enter this zone.

Vehicles from Germany and abroad that meet the emissions criteria may order the necessary badge from the TÜV Nord or www.umwelt-plakette.de.

Arriving via the A52

Coming from Bochum and Düsseldorf, please take exit no. 27 (Essen-Haarzopf), resp. no. 28 (Essen-Rüttenscheid). Follow “Norbertstraße” for about 880m and then turn left into “Messeplatz”. After about 30m, you will reach the entrance to the  parking space P1 on the right.

Arriving via the B224

Coming from downtown Essen or the A 40, turn right into “Norbertstraße” and then after about 110m right again into “Messeplatz”. After about 30m, you will reach the entrance to the parking space P1 on 
the right.

Arriving via the A52

Coming from downtown Essen or the A 40, turn right into “Norbertstraße” and then after about 110m right again into “Messeplatz”. After the underpass, you will reach the entrance to the parking space P2  
on the left.

Arriving via the A52

Coming from Bochum and Düsseldorf, please take exit no. 27 (Essen-Haarzopf), resp. no. 28 (Essen-Rüttenscheid). Follow “Norbertstraße” and then after about 800m turn right into “Joseph-Lenné-Straße“. Turn left at the first street into “Eduard-Lucas-Straße”. You will reach the parking space P3 on the left.

Arriving via the A52

Coming from Bochum and Düsseldorf, please take exit no. 27 (Essen-Haarzopf), resp. no. 28 (Essen-Rüttenscheid). Follow “Norbertstraße” and then turn right into “Messeallee”. Turn right at the first street into “Luxemburger Straße”. You will reach the car park P5 on the right.

Arriving via the B224

Coming from downtown Essen or the A 40, turn right into “Norbertstraße” and then after about 600m left into “Messeallee”. Turn right at the first street into “Luxemburger Straße”. You will reach the 
car park P5 on the right.

Directions to the Parking Space P6

Arriving via the A52

Coming from Bochum and Düsseldorf, please take exit no. 27 (Essen-Haarzopf), resp. no. 28 (Essen-Rüttenscheid). Follow “Norbertstraße” for about 350m and then turn left under the bridge into “Lührmannstraße”. After about 150 m, you will reach the entrance to the car park P6 on the right.

Coming from downtown Essen or the A 40, turn right into “Norbertstraße” and then after about 660m under the bridge right again into “Lührmannstraße”. After about 150 m, you will reach the entrance to the car park P6 on the right.

Arriving via the A52

Coming from Bochum and Düsseldorf, please take exit no. 27 (Essen-Haarzopf), resp. no. 28 (Essen-Rüttenscheid). Follow “Norbertstraße” for about 350m and then turn left under the bridge into “Lührmannstraße”. After about 350 m, turn right into the entrance to Gate 2 and then directly left. Proceed on the FG IV to the parking space P7.

Coming from downtown Essen or the A 40, turn right into “Norbertstraße” and then after about 660m under the bridge right again into “Lührmannstraße”. After about 350 m, turn right into the entrance to Gate 2 and then directly left. Proceed on the FG IV to the parking space P7.

Arriving via the A52

Coming from Bochum and Düsseldorf, please take exit no. 27 (Essen-Haarzopf), resp. no. 28 (Essen-Rüttenscheid). Coming from Düsseldorf, cross below the A 52 and then turn left. Coming from Bochum, continue straight and cross “Norbertstraße”.

Arriving via the B224

Coming from downtown Essen or the A 40, turn right into “Norbertstraße”. After about 960 m, you will reach the car park P9 on the right.

Arriving via the A52

Coming from Bochum and Düsseldorf, please take exit no. 26 (Essen-Kettwig). Coming from Bochum, take the exit on the left into “Lilienthalstraße”. Coming from Düsseldorf, take the exit on the right into 
“Meisenburgstraße”, then immediately turn right into “Lilienthalstraße”. The parking space P 10 is on the right-hand side.

Arriving via the B224

Coming from downtown Essen or the A 40, turn right into “Norbertstraße”. Then take the A 52 towards Düsseldorf and leave the A 52 at exit no. 26 (Essen-Kettwig). At the exit, turn left into “Lilienthalstraße”. The parking space P 10 is on the right-hand side.

MESSE ESSEN is also easily accessible from long distances. You can reach the exhibition grounds quickly and easily via Düsseldorf Airport.

The international airport is only about 20 minutes away and, with over 500 takeoffs and landings daily, offers connections to more than 170 destinations in Germany and abroad. Public transportation connections are also excellent—so you can easily reach the fairgrounds by train.

On site, the MESSE ESSEN information counter on the arrivals level of Terminal B is available to assist you.

For even shorter travel times, Essen/Mülheim Airport is also available. From there, you can reach the fairgrounds in just 10 minutes by car or taxi.

You can easily reach MESSE ESSEN by caravan via the region’s excellent highway network.

For your stay, there are two campgrounds available in the southern part of Essen, right near the Ruhr River and Lake Baldeney. Both offer an attractive combination of nature-oriented accommodations and good access to the exhibition grounds.

The KNAUS Campingpark in the Werden district combines camping close to the city with a quiet location surrounded by nature. Paved campsites and numerous tourist sites are available for RV travelers.

The historic old town of Essen-Werden, the Ruhr River, and Lake Baldeney are all nearby. Thanks to excellent public transportation connections, you can reach MESSE ESSEN quickly and easily. The S-Bahn station, just a few minutes’ walk away, makes the camping park an ideal starting point for your visit to the trade fair.

You can easily reach MESSEN ESSEN by bike. This allows you to travel in an eco-friendly way while remaining flexible.

As an ADFC-certified “Bicycle-Friendly Employer,” we actively promote sustainable mobility and encourage travel by bike. This allows us to create the best possible conditions for everyone who wants to get to MESSE ESSEN in an eco-friendly and flexible way.

Free bike parking is available at Messehaus West and Messehaus Ost. There, you can securely park your bike and start your visit to the trade show with peace of mind.

Bicycle Routes

You can easily reach the MESSE ESSEN via Essen’s network of bike paths, which stretches over 300 kilometers. In addition to traditional bike paths, numerous bike lanes, combined pedestrian and bike paths, and the popular former coal mine rail lines lead directly through the city and its green surroundings.

This allows you to reach the exhibition grounds in a relaxed and sustainable way, away from busy roads.

E-scooters

Use car-sharing services to travel affordably. Vehicles are not picked up or returned at fixed locations. They can be parked and rented flexibly anywhere in the city. When parking, users should ensure that enough sidewalk space remains clear for pedestrians; in particular, at busier locations such as train stations, at least 2 meters should be kept clear.
