German Barristers Day comes to Messe Essen

Messe Essen will be the nationwide meeting point for barristers and jurists. From 25 to 27th May 2017, the German Barristers Day will take place for the first time in the Congress Center Essen at Messe Essen. The organising German Bar Association expects some 1,600 participants from advocacy, justice, politics, academia and the press for exchanges on social as well legal and professional policy. The German Barristers Day is also one of the largest training events in general for the legal profession. The annual meeting of the legal profession will still take place in Hamburg and Berlin before taking up residence in Essen.

On the eve of Barristers Day 2017, "German Barristers Day for Newcomers" will take place especially for young professionals, trainees and students. In addition, the German Bar Association will organise the AdvoTec exhibition alongside its session. "With the German Barristers Day, Messe Essen confirms its status as one of the leading players among German conference destinations. We owe this latest success to a strong team and spacious premises as well as our excellent location and accessibility in the centre of the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region”, says Oliver P. Kuhrt, Managing Director of Messe Essen.

German Jurists Day will come to Messe Essen in 2016

One year before the Barristers Day, German Jurists Day will take place in 2016 at Messe Essen. This was announced by the North Rhine-Westphalian (NRW) Ministry of Justice last year. 50 years after the last Jurists Day in Essen, around 5,000 people are expected to attend the largest symposium for the legal profession in Germany. NRW Justice Minister Thomas Kutschaty is pleased to note: "Essen is one of the most important judicial locations in Germany. For this reason, this decision is a major recognition for the judiciary and a significant boost for the Essen exhibition site.”
