E-world energy & water will not take place this year. The leading trade fair for the European energy industry should have opened at Messe Essen from 4th to 6th May 2021. The reason for the cancellation is the lack of planning security and too short preparation time for exhibitors and organisers. It is still unclear when and under what conditions trade fairs can reopen in Germany. As information platform for the energy sector, E-world gathers international decision-makers in Essen every year. Almost one fifth of the exhibitors have their headquarters abroad.
"We regret the cancellation, but under the current conditions, an E-world in the usual framework is not possible. A trade fair appearance requires several months of preparation time on the part of the exhibitors – unfortunately, we cannot offer our customers the necessary planning security at present", says Sabina Großkreuz, Managing Director of the organising E-world energy & water GmbH. Stefanie Hamm, also Managing Director, explains: "The industry reacts to the cancellation with regret and understanding. At the same time, we are pleased that with the new E-world Community we are providing the energy industry with a digital platform where they can stay in touch."
E-world Community for year-round networking and information
In the E-world Community, players in the energy sector can network, inform themselves and initiate business all year round. In addition, there is an extensive digital lecture programme on current challenges in the industry. Companies can present their products, projects and cooperation opportunities quickly and intuitively. By specifying interests, offers or requests, intelligent algorithms regularly provide all participants with individually adapted product and contact suggestions. Since last week, users can register for the community free of charge at https://community.e-world-essen.com.
"The E-world Community expressly does not see itself as a substitute for the trade fair on site. The past months have shown how important personal contact between people is. With the E-world Community, we provide the industry with an effective tool that serves, for example, to prepare for the upcoming trade fair," Stefanie Hamm explains further.
The next E-world energy & water will take place from 8th to 10th February 2022 at Messe Essen. At the same time, there are ideas to shorten the waiting time: Initial talks are currently underway on how to enable the industry to meet in a smaller setting before the end of this year.
